How Vocalio Works: Your Practice Session, Step by Step
A Vocalio session takes just a few minutes. Here’s exactly what happens, from choosing an exercise to closing your rings.
Every session follows the same simple shape. Once you’ve done it once, it becomes second nature — you open the app, breathe, and read.

1. Choose an exercise
Start by picking what to read. Vocalio gives you ready-made texts and short sentences — some general, some built to target specific sounds that tend to trip people up. You can also paste your own words, so you practise on the things you actually need to say. Everything is split into syllables for you.
2. Set your pace
Choose a tempo. Beginners start slow — around 50 beats per minute — where there’s plenty of time for each syllable. As it gets comfortable, you climb the bands, 20 BPM at a time, toward a natural speaking rhythm.
3. Position your phone
Prop your phone up at arm’s length, roughly at eye level, with your face in frame. Vocalio shows a simple guide and confirms when your distance is right, so your front camera can act as a mirror while you practise.
4. Read aloud
Now read along, one syllable per beat. Don’t rush to keep up or slow down to lag behind — just ride the beat. The current syllable lights up so you always know where you are, and Vocalio nudges you to open your mouth wide on each one — bigger than feels natural.
5. Follow the feedback
As you read, keep half an eye on the volume meter. If you drift too quiet or too loud, it shows you — nudge yourself back into the ideal band without breaking your flow. Over a session, staying in that band becomes automatic.
6. Complete the session
Finish your text and you’ve closed part of your day’s goal: practice time, syllables read, and time spent at a good volume. Three gentle rings fill as you go, and small daily targets turn single sessions into a lasting habit.

That’s the whole loop
Choose, pace, position, read, adjust, done. A few minutes, most days. The method stays the same; what changes is how naturally clear speech starts to feel.
